What You are Searching?
This database served as a library catalogue of Books,
Reports, Journals, videos/cds which are in physical form in CED
archives in Mumbai and Bangalore. The idea is that you can
check out if a particular book, article or video is there at CED,
before coming. Members can get CDs sent to them by courier,
wherever they are. We also make special arrangments for NGOs and Field
workers. You can locate your books, report or video by Title,
Author, or Date. You can also give keywords or source/publications.
Please note that, not all journals articles have been indexed.
But we do have a range of Journals, which we advised you to come to CED
and check out.
Further, our most unique collection is our clippings files. Some of
these are accessed from the Document search (ELDOC) query, on the left
bar of this website. But the gold mine is here at CED Bangalore,
& Mumbai.
How to Search?
In
Keywords: the search is on keywords selected by us and not
on full text. You can used part of word as well.
In
Title: this searches for the entered word/part of
word/phrase in the title of the document only
In
Author: this searches for the entered name/part of
name/combination of names from the authors field only (
Hint: try first_name second name, or just second name, or second_name,
first_name)
In
Date: give a range of dates in the dd/mm/yyyy format.
This is the date of the publication.
In Type: there is
a pull down menu, that helps you search from only books or Reports or
Journal articles, or Videos/CDs. Leave this blank if you wish to
view all types of documents.
To narrow down your search, you can fill in more
than one field. Just make sure that whatever you key-in is correct.
Search Results
The record of all documents fulfilling the conditions of your query
will be displayed,
30
records at a time. The order of results is by default latest
entry ( as opposed to latest document) first.
The result will display in the following format :
Total number of results matching the query
Title of the Book/Reports/Journals etc..
Author
Date Of publication
No. of pages(incase of video, duration of the film)
Keywords and/or a small description of the document

Once you have located the Books/Reports, you can contact CED either by
