    2 issues of Legal Rights dossiers are available. CED will send you the most important clippings and articles on all rights based issues, neatly classified, and coded. All you have to do is file the individual clippings under the classification number provided.

    CRITICAL CONCERNS - NEW!
    A special monthly selection of articles and news items ....Critical Concerns, on one hand keeps the activists abreast of the current issues and trends in the Indian scenario, and on the other linked up to the larger issues. Take a glimpse of the topics here.

    We have just brought out three prototype issues. Each issue is about 100 pages.

    We are sending complementary copies to those of you who would like to critique and make suggestions on topics, coverage, as well as form. For a copy, please write to jacintha@doccentre.net

    RECONSTRUCTION FOR DEVELOPMENT CENTRES(RDCs)
    CED, in association with Architecture and Development (A & D), is setting up RDCs, focusing on the rehabilitation and the long-term development needs of communities in South India affected by the tsunami.

    We, at CED are starting this new project and require the following staff:

    a. Manager - capable of managing a team that will be in the field collecting and disseminating information, with back-up from technical - architecture, construction and IT - and social organization professionals. Involvement with habitat issues is desirable. Knowledge of Tamil is an added advantage.

    b. Graphics/ PageDesigner/ Producer to produce educational and training materials on habitat issues and Tsunami Rehabilitation in Tamil.
    Person should have knowledge of Habitat and Architecture/Planning Design, and have skills in computerized Page Layout , Working knowledge of colloquial Tamil.

    c. Training & Field Supervisor in Information Collection, Documentation, and dissemination at local level. Knowledge of Tamil essential.
    Skills in Audio visual medium will be an added asset. Previous experience of secondary documentation in regular documentation centers is most desirable.

    d. Documentalist and Information Packaging in Tamil and English

    Please send email giving details of your interests, knowledge of documentation, Habitat and Disaster related issues.
    The assignment is for two years with headquarters in Bangalore.  Post a. c. & d. involves traveling to coastal areas of Tamil Nadu.

    CED – Jivika

    On April 22nd CED, Bangalore & Jivika (an e-group interested in livelihood and gender issues) held a Study Circle on the topic - Intensification of Poverty : Macro and Micro Challenges and Responsibilities. We explored the possibility of holding study circles on this broad topic once in two months. The next meeting will be in mid-June 2005. For more information you can write to veena@doccentre.net
