    newsletFeb03.htmlCED NEWSLETTER- DEC 2003

    Dear Friends,
Diwali went by, Id was here and Christmas is coming! Another year is coming to an end.  And our 25 years celebrations are drawing to a close! Greetings on all these occasions from CED – this time from both Bangalore & Mumbai. CED would also like to wish one and all A Very Happy New Year- 2004.

YOU DONT NEED TO VISIT US!
Come NEW YEAR 2004, CED will also be a `virtual documentation centre’. You could use our centre by sitting in your homes. CED’s electronic documentation now contains more than twelve thousand two hundred and fifty (12,250) documents, clippings. We are adding to it at the rate of sixteen  (16) documents per day.   Members will be able to access this through our Extranet (restricted area on the website where only members can access information) from their homes through the Internet.  At CED also, we have several computer kept aside for members, who can now use our computers to check what we have, as well as search the NET for development information.  We have both systems: (i) the general kind of search by `keywords’ or `titles’, (ii)  special issue based electronic packages so that young people can figure out an issue before being confronted with hugh long lists of what they call “hits” that knock you out!
    Check our E-DIGESTS.

Now it hardly matters if you are not in Bangalore or Mumbai. You can make use of our services from any part of the globe. With your membership we will give you a Users login ID and Password, which will allow you to access the information you want sitting in your homes. Members can also access these documents by email. Write to us at docemail@doccentre.org

Our website has been given a facelift. It has been packed with a lot of interesting articles and information which we think will be relevant for anyone in the social / development sector. It is also in the process of becoming more interactive in the next month. There will be a space for you too. It has also been made easy for you to search the various catalogues and databases that we have from your own location. This covers our books, journals, reports and press clippings with a reference number, an abstract, publisher information etc.  Do visit our website www.doccentre.org
